What are we studying?
We will begin this year with Illinois History. The Constitution Test is tentatively set for September 23rd, but may change due to Map/Aims-Web Testing
Textbooks will be passed out the last week of September. We will cover the cultures of Ancient Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome.
Next will be The Five Major Religions of the World, and then we will move through the Age of Feudalism in Japan and on to the Middle Ages of Europe, the Renaissance, and Revolutions.
Finally, May and the Kingdoms of Africa will be explored along with early trade routes. We will also discuss challenges humans are faced with as global warming impacts all of the Continents.
What are my goals and expectations?
1. Read and discuss the Early History of Man to Modern Society.
2. Be able to identify major accomplishments of civilizations.
3. Interpret movements in history as turning points to technological changes.
4. Explain the branches of the Illinois government.
5. Have an understanding of Illinois History and Geography.
6. Come to class prepared and be ready when the bell rings.
7. Complete homework assignments.
8. Study material every evening as good review.
9. Be polite and respectful to everyone.
10. Enjoy the journey through history.
